Yes Viv I'd agree that it'd be great to have posts of that nature. I do think it can come under the General section or I'll end up with 100's of forums

I agree that we probably don't want to have individual sections within the forum... and links to other blogs in the profile might be interesting! I just wondered if it might be worth having a section where people could share things of interest...eg poems, news... that is probably covered by the general section though?

How fun!
There is a church blog for the life of the church, obviously this is made up of people's experiences. I would like to keep this site as an overall community all mixed up together and stay away from sections for individuals. There are so many blog sites out there for individual people to share (eg livejournal) I wonder whether just including a link in people's profiles to their own blog may be a good idea. Or of course you can post a link on a forum for those who wish to read it to go to.

Will sort out that questions section now.
Thanks once again to all those who contribute to the site, it's the only way it grows

Yaaaaay! The colour has come back into to my life!

Praise be, to Viv, and to HTML coding!

Hi

I thought I would see if I can make the colour coding thing work!
Seems like I can!

I think it would be great to have a Questions about the Christian Faith section to the forum...
I like the idea of having a place in the forum where people could share thoughts and experiences too, would having a section dedicated to that, where any one could start a thread sharing a thought or experience work? I guess you could choose to build on a thread you started there so that it was like a blog..., or people could just share a single thought or experience which might suit some people better?

Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions
Viv

Hello...

"I'm not entirely sure why it's now grey, other than to say the our host has upgraded their PHP version to a bug filled one, and hopefully they will upgrade this soon with the fixes, maybe this will change again."

Don't we love our hosts!? I know of nobody who does, actually. I had some space with "QiQ" and the figures showed the space to be unavailable more than it ever was available, so I just shut it down. I also threw a fit with them when I found that my full name, home address, post-code and telephone number were available to any who navigated their way to the WhoIs domain registry - no way was I having that, even though it's unavoidable for anybody, with any domain name, unless they pay for their details to be excluded from the registry - and from all site pages, elsewhere, that are built on that data, also.

"There is a section at the bottom of the prayer page for personal prayers/praises and I'm sure Christain themed poems could count in here also, or you can post in the general forum. I am thinking of adding a "Questions about the Christian faith" section to the forum. What do you think?"

I think that that would be a great idea - especially for new arrivals who may sometimes not even be Christian and simply want to know more, by use of their own questions. Customised answers will give them that 'listened to' feeling that everybody loves so much that shows that their requests for information matter.

"At the moment the newsletter does not get sent out electronically, just posted through doors. I will get in touch with our printer and see if they'll send me a PDF version to post on-line, great idea!"

I'd quite forgotten about the PDF thing...nice touch. I'll look out for the link. It also means that you could even add your own, supplementary content at any time prior to uploading the PDF, ready to offer.

What do you think of folks having their own on-board Journal Section (one thread to each member) dedicated to their ongoing, daily experiences with life, the Church and their participation in Christian activities and their results? The nature of the entries, being non-private, would be easy for them to modify to suit the nature of such an open Journalisation of their treks through Church matters, etc.. Member-specific, dedicated Journal-threads are like blogs and people love cruising through the diarising efforts of blog-writers, so I just thought that it may be a good inclusion.

(By the way...I've just tried to use the colour-coding for this message and it appears to be non-operational, unless I'm just doing something wrong. I thought you may wish to know...that's all.)

Hi Ian

I'm not entirely sure why it's now grey, other than to say the our host has upgraded their PHP version to a bug filled one, and hopefully they will upgrade this soon with the fixes, maybe this will change again.

Folks...

(Erm...first of all...why has the default font in the post editor turned into a grey colour? He-e-e-e-elp! It would be just like me to have not noticed something obvious, such as...the font has always been this colour! It kinda looks as if my monitor is running out of ink!)

1. Is there a formal and regular newsletter, as yet, for St Andrew's Church's (BPC's) area distribution?

2. Will there be a section, later, on this discussion board, for people who like to write 'custom' prayers, or for folks who like to turn their hand to writing Christian themed poems, etc?

Ian.
