Role of the PCC

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) has the responsibility for co-operating with the ministerial team in promoting within the Parish the whole mission of the Church: pastoral and evangelistic. It also has management and maintenance responsibilities for employed staff and for the Church and Hall finances, buildings and contents.

Teams Structure

The PCC restructured itself into Teams. Each team looks after an area of the Ministry and Management of St Andrew's. Each team reports back to PCC who is still responsible. The idea is that the Teams be more action orientated. All the teams have within their brief the Mission of the Church; all should be outward looking as well as considering the needs and issues of our own church Community.

The clear brief of each team is not to run or control the work and concerns within their brief, but rather to enable and encourage. Thus the teams leaders are not "in charge", but rather seen as enablers to ensure decisions are made more efficiently.

Each team is small (around six members), but will co-opt others to support particular tasks.

The Teams are as follows:

  1. Finance & Fabric (Nicholas Thomas)
  2. Communications (Mark Woodger)
  3. Evangelism (Steve Burmester)
  4. Discipleship/Training (David Jack)
  5. Mission (Barbara Bazley)
  6. Poverty Action (Jill Loach)
  7. Standing (Rector)
  8. Fund raising (David Jack)
