Crosslinks

History

This agency was formed in 1922, in order to be a distinctive witness to the Word of God, and was known as the Bible Churchman's Missionary Society.  It has worked among the Eskimos, in Burma, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and in parts of South America.   Now known as Crosslinks its emphasis is that Mission is from everywhere to everywhere.  Thus it may support workers from an ethnic group to work among that same people in Britain.  This Society has long links with St. Andrew's.  Rev. A.G. Pouncy, a former Rector here, was a full time worker with this society.  Mrs. Ruth Barratt was born in Burma of missionary parents and has recently visited the church there where she was a child.  Norah Howlett from the Cross Lane cottages and member of this church was a missionary with this society.  John Ball who became a bishop in Tanzania was for many years the link missionary of St. Andrew's, and the late Mary Jones, of Port Sunlight Post Office was for many years the secretary here at St. Andrew's.

Our New Mission Partners

Tim and Gertrude Wambunya will be our new mission partners. Tim has been appointed the new Principal of Carlile College so through our support of this family we will be able to maintain our links with the community and college we have been supporting for the last few years.
