This is a Christian Mission to our own country.
It began in 1836 to raise the funds to help clergy struggling with the huge parishes of the rapidly growing urban centres following the Industrial Revolution.
At present it helps with training clergy, giving grants for fees and books, and safeguards certain parishes for the preaching of the gospel through the patronage system. It publishes many resources to help in pastoral situations (e.g. housegroup notes, Marriage, Baptism and Confirmation preparation) does outreach to young families, runs holidays and camps for children and young people (9000 attended them last summer) especially from hard-pressed or urban priority areas, and helps with more staff for this kind of parish.
